Wow! The week has gotten by me.
Unfortunately, we had one young man, Tim decide that in the two weeks he was here he is ready to go back on his own.
I have an opening for house manager.
The other guys are working or looking for work. Kyle has an MBA. He is not looking for an executive level position. An entry level position with potential would be great. He recognizes this next year needs to be focused on personal growth, not career growth. If anybody has any openings or is aware of anything, please let us know.
Prayer:
Pray for Tim that if he desires to return the timing and heart condition will be right. (I have a feeling he will.)
Pray that Kyle find the right job soon.
Pray for Henry to continue growing and stay the course.
Pray for Steve as he is moving on. He is looking forward to volunteering with us and helping out, just in a different capacity.
Pray that these motorcycles sell! I thought with the change in weather I might get some bites, but have not had much activity.

Still pray for the $4,000 for the purchase of the van. If any business owner want to donate the full amount you could put your company name and logo on both sides and rear of the van. I saw one the other day that Transportation provided "Your company and logo"

Fall is here! Let's ride!
2005 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado 1700cc. For Sale. An anonymous donor gave me this bike to help support the ministry. I just got it tuned up at Power Sports of Conroe and it is ready to ride.
Blue Book suggested price for excellent condition is $6,500. Asking $6,000.
I am interviewing another potential resident this afternoon and the pastor of a large congregation here in Conroe to tell him who we are and what we are doing in the community.
Roofer scheduled to come today! I am ready to get that out of the way.

Ready for another exciting week and I am looking for a few good men. Check out today's update!
We all attended church together on Sunday. One of the guys found a mentor that is going to meet with him at the house on a regular basis. I had not even really put that out there yet.
But, I am looking for mature Christian men interested in becoming a mentor. You do not have to be perfect or have a whole lot of time. Before we know it I will have 12 men from all different backgrounds in this program in need of a strong male role model. If you are interested give me a call, text or facebook message me. Or, attend "Man Zone" at The Ark Church on Wednesday at 7:00. I will be speaking for about five minutes at the end about the need for mentors and I can answer any questions you might have.
Roof
The insurance claim was approved without an adjuster coming out. The check is in the mail. Roof damage scheduled for repair on Wednesday.
Mark Allen donated contributed $150.00 toward the $1,000 deductible.
An employee of the roofing company contributed $200.00.
Prayer

Pray for the sale of the two motorcycles that were donated to Simple Truth.
Pray for the men that are currently at the Life Training Center. Kyle, Tim, Henry.
Pray for my Program Coordinator, Steve, as he adjusts to living at the LTC.
Keep Cheryl and I in your prayers for all the obvious reasons. Pray for Cheryl since she has to deal with me. I think that is trying enough without adding on the start up of this ministry. I guess dealing with me was probably an obvious prayer need.

Good news
Roof - Claim has been submitted for payment is under review. We received a donation of $200.00 toward the deductible. Thank you, sir.
Residents - First two moved in last Saturday. After Labor Day, guys have been to Texas Workforce Commission Job Center two days this week and one day Volunteering at Angelic Resale.
Third resident moving in today. God is sending the men He told me he would. I was able to meet with this guy's employer to explain what we are doing and his employer is on board. Amazing!
A friend of mine just called me. She told someone during a lunch meeting about what Simple Truth is doing and that we are in need of 10 new twin mattresses. I haven't met his person yet, but they are coming to see the house this afternoon and have committed to purchasing all of the mattresses. I did not see this one coming. God is Good.
I have been looking for a van for about a month now, but have been a little discouraged by what I have to choose from. A friend of mine that has a non profit is willing to sell me the one she is going to trade in on a new one for the trade in value of $4,000.00. It is far nicer than what I envisioned getting for that price as it is clean, well maintained and under 100k. It is exactly the make and model I really wanted.

Don't forget the Good News!
The good news about huge limb that fell on the LTC, Life Training Center is this:
The next door neighbor came out to talk to me when he saw me looking at the damage.
He asked me when I was moving in and I thought, "Great, now I get to have this conversation with the neighbor and tell him that I am not moving in, but starting a Life Training Center."
I tell him what Simple Truth is doing with the house and his eyes well up and he says, "Praise God, somebody has to help those people."
I was quite pleasantly surprised as this was not the reaction I was expecting.
Then I told him I have my first two residents moving in on Saturday and I mention that one of them has an HVAC license.
My neighbor then says, "I own an AC company, send him over and I will give him a shot."
So, as inconvenient as the damage to the new roof is at this time, I would not have had that conversation with my neighbor had he not come out to check out the half a tree that fell on the house.
